SERVPRO warehouse with restoration equipment and furniture

Wilmington Contents Get Cleaned in Warehouse by SERVPRO

When SERVPRO techs handled the restoration services in a Wilmington property, several large pieces of furniture needed to undergo cleaning that could not get done on-site. The techs loaded the sofas, mattress, and wood furnishings carefully and brought them to the local warehouse for detailing.

Commercial Water Damage in Wilmington

This office space had commercial water damage apparent on the carpet. SERVPRO technicians arrived quickly to extract the water. To limit the disruption to the space, the techs performed the water removal and drying with the furniture in place.

Wilmington Center Mold Containment

As eye-catching as the carpet may be in this Wilmington Meeting Center, the constructed containment barrier by SERVPRO is more so. Using our tension poles and 6-mil poly sheeting, we can isolate the mold-contaminated area of the room from the unaffected area. We can access this quarantined area by way of the black zippered entrance. This also helps to protect the furnishing and electronic equipment while the technician sprays an antimicrobial product. Notice the neat manner of protecting the carpet. The green air scrubber, fitted with a HEPA and charcoal filter, captures airborne mold spores and particles. We understand and follow the best practices for mold remediation. That is Why SERVPRO is a wise choice for mold cleanup and remediation.

Commercial Generator and Commercial Desiccant Dehumidifier in Use

This is one of SERVPRO of Hockessin / Elsmere's commercial desiccant dehumidifier and commercial generator in use.  We often use this equipment when we need to place a lot of drying equipment.

Small Local Event

SERVPRO of Hockessin / Elsmere was asked to distribute information on all of our services at an opening of a local company.  It was overwhelming to hear all the people who already had heard of us or used our services in the past.

Pretty Graffiti

This secured storage container in our parking lot was creatively painted by one of our own artists here at SERVPRO of Hockessin / Elsmere.  We our lucky to have such talent in our shop.

Filthy Vent

We see a lot of things on our time here at SERVPRO.  This is one of the dirtiest vents I have seen.  The amount of pet hair and debris on the vent was extreme. What do you think?

Golf Outing Goodies

Here are some samples of goodies we gave out a recent golf outing.  SERVPRO green golf tees, SERVPRO sunglasses' bands and magnets.  There was also brag book sitting out with some of our odd jobs we have completed.

Submerged Pipe in Basement

Here in this picture you can see what we found in this basement. A pipe that ran across the floor was submerged in water.  In the background you can see where the water came up to on the white bucket.

Mold on Basement Floor

In this picture you can see the amount of mold that grew on the floor of this basement.  SERVPRO of Hockessin was able to help out this customer and mitigate the mold properly.

Burst Pipe

Here is a picture of a copper pipe that burst due to extreme low temperatures.  The winter months bring on severe low temperatures that can sometimes be so cold that it even causes copper pipes to break.

Soccer Sponsor

Here is our sign at the local soccer field in Hockessin, Delaware.  We proudly support our young community. Soccer is a passion we share here at SERVPRO.  This sign is hanging at Delaware Rush.

Corn Hole

A friendly round of corn hole helps build team spirit and bonding. The guys always find time after their hard days work to grab a quick game of corn hole.

Jump Boxes

Jump Boxes are used on jobs to help maintain proper electric current. SERVPRO owns dozens of these boxes to help aid in getting the proper amount of electricity into homes.

Textile Cleaning

Here is a snap of half of the textile room.  We can wash and fold the textiles from your home after a loss. This is the best smelling part of our entire shop.

Sealing Off the Kitchen

Here are two of our crew members taping off a portion of this kitchen. Removing the damaged part of this ceiling could bring debris down on other parts of the room. To prevent further damage/mess our technicians carefully isolate the work space.

Water Line Breaks

This photo was taken in one of the many hotel rooms that had major water damage after a water line broke. You can see on the beds and carpet, that the ceiling fell down after filling with water.

Detached Dryer Vent

This dryer vent has collected lint throughout time and has also disconnected itself from the wall.  This can be a fire hazard as lint in very flammable.  Here we cleaned the dryer vent up through the cavity of the wall and reconnected the vent securely.

Bursting Pipes

Our fans were set up in the lobby of this apartment building after a pipe had burst. During these extremely cold temperatures, pipes sometimes burst due to water freezing and expanding inside of them.

Scorched Table

Here you can see a scorched table from where a fire started.  A cigarette was believed to be extinguished but the discarded butt was not all the way out.  One should be aware and take personal initiative to ensure all tobacco products are properly put out.

Sprinkler Systems Go Off

This photo shows the after math of a faulty sprinkler system. When the kitchen of this retirement home caused the sprinkler system to go off, the entire first floor was soaked. Luckily there was no fire to begin with, just a lot of water in the end.

Damaged Flooring

These wooden floor boards have been holding mold growth after a water leak. The water has discolored the wood and moisture has been absorbed into the flooring. This can be avoided in wood flooring by starting the drying process in a timely fashion.

Dark Damp Basement

Here is a photo of a large amount of mold growth in a basement. What has made this basement so vulnerable to mold growth is the dark damp environment. The drywall has no light to dry out in which causes the opportunity for mold.

Winter Storm Damage

This property was harshly affected by an early winter storm. You can see in the photo, the water line was well above the ground across their back yard. The basement was the most affected area within the home due to the amount of flooding.

Wet Carpet in Closet

This closet had flooded months before and not taken care of properly. Since then, the carpet has soaked up the moisture and caused mold growth in the corners of the closet. Sometimes areas like these go long periods of time without being detected.

Stove Top Fire

This photo shows the results of a stove top being left on and unattended for too long. It was eventually forgotten about and caught fire. The kitchen has severe soot damage due to the fire from the stove top coils.

Mold Discovery

This photo shows a water damage that sat in a vacant home for a period of time.  During the water damage removal process, while the floor was being removed an amount of mold was discovered that we remediated. The outcome was a success.

Tree Falls on House

During a summer windy storm a tree in the yard fell on a home.  The tree penetrated the roof and went into the bedroom. Luckily no one was in the bedroom during the night when the damage occurred.

Basement Apartment

Here is a separate basement apartment located in a home in Elsmere that has been damaged by a large storm. The carpet was dried and cleaned back to its original state.

New Desiccant

We put our new desiccant to work as soon as possible after this major storm. We had our new desiccant, a generator, and a lot of fans. It turned out to be quite the operation!

Air Circulation

You can see in this photo there has been some major damage to the lower sections of the drywall. We have plenty of fans working to keep air flowing through the walls and the hallway to dry it out.

Water Damages the Items in a Home

This water damage was sever enough to make a large amount of furniture and items in the home unable to be salvaged. Here is everything we had to pack out at the end of the day.

Called to a Restaurant

After a huge rain storm and flash flood alerts sent out to the local area, SERVPRO got a call from a neighboring restaurant. They had serious flooding and water damage to their carpets.

Mold Growth & Wallpaper

Wallpaper is a common place for the growth of mold and bacteria. You can see in this photo, there is no visible mold on the outside of the wallpaper. Over time bacteria builds up in between the wallpaper and the wall since there is no air circulation. You can see where the wallpaper has been pulled back that there is a large amount of mold growth.

Pharmacy Flood

This flood created serious damages for this local pharmacy. You can see the floors have been pulled up in multiple places and we have plenty of fans on the scene. Sometimes we have to work in small active places like these and we make sure our customers can carry on with their days while our equipment is there.

Mold in the Office

Sometimes mold goes undetected in the work place. If your office is in a shaded, cool, or damp area, it is important to make sure the building manager is checking for mold. Water damage in an office raises the risk of mold growth as well.

Basement Storm Damage

Not only does the flooring and walls of a home get damaged by a major storm, rain, or flash flood, but so does the belongings the water comes in contact with.

Make sure you frequently check areas on your lower level like basements and garages for mold. It is especially important to check your home for mold after damp/rainy weather or water damages.

Toilet Overflow

SERVPRO of Hockessin/Elsmere was called into for a small toilet overflow. This is what the crew walked into upon arrival. It can be a dirty job, but somebody has to do it!

Soot Covered Cabinets

Large fires can cause serious soot contamination which should be taken seriously. Avoid touching soot covered items after a fire and keep movement throughout the home to a minimum to prevent further damage.

Office Fire

This office fire was dowsed by an appropriately functioning sprinkler system installed throughout the building. Sprinkler systems have the potential to lower insurance rates by up to 15%. Make sure your building has an adequate system.

Mold in Basement Closet

Basements and damp areas in your house are the perfect places for mold growth. Water damaged areas are also likely to cause the growth of mold and need to be cleaned and dried thoroughly to reduce the risk.

Baby Shower in the Middle of Storm Season

In the middle of our storm season, we threw a surprise baby shower for Katherine our office manager. We squeezed all the snacks, cake, presents, and celebrating into one morning as our busy storm season is picking up.
